Editor’s Foreword
This issue commences with an article by Waldo Vieira
entitled Autotomy that unravels the phenomenon of the voluntary
casting off of parts of the body. This contribution gives us a taste
of the research and writing styles employed in the Encyclopaedia
of Conscientiology currently being prepared by Vieira with the assistance
of over 100 research volunteers.
In addition, Nelson Abreu proposes alternative models to collect
and analyze data related to the experimental research projects on
remote perception and out-of-body experiences conducted by Trivellato
and Alegretti, and Medeiros and Sousa. Abreu’s comments on
methodology and valid alternative research methods warrant close
examination.
Paradiagnosis, or the capacity to diagnose a health condition through
all available means including the parapsychic perceptions of the
examiner (who also examines the bioenergetic and multidimensional
condition of the subject), is an important area within the field
of conscientiology that greatly deserves further exposure and debate.
Bruno Wong, a physician and researcher of conscientiology, presents
some of the basic concepts and practicalities of paradiagnosis.
Marcelli Ferraz delivers a contribution about an intriguing aspect
of human manifestation: the religious self-mimicry syndrome. This
syndrome is based on the observable reality that some individuals
replace old religious attitudes with more “modern spiritual
tendencies”, unaware that they are repeating behaviours of
their past (from this or previous lives) – they simply replace
the object of their faith whilst maintaining similar internal attitudes
such as idolization and performing of rituals. Ferraz presents the
traits of this syndrome and suggests means of identifying and overcoming
such a condition.
This issue concludes with two very interesting personal accounts
that we hope will inspire researchers as well as self-experimenters.
Martin Azambuya describes his experience of the three-hour waking
physical immobility technique in the laboratory prepared by IAC
New York office. Maximiliano Haymann narrates a lucid spontaneous
out-of-body experience in which he apparently met his girlfriend
in a semi-conscious level outside her body.
To encourage readers to contribute and join the debate of ideas
via the Journal, we are including the glossary of conscientiological
terms, as we have done in the first issue of previous years.
We would like to take this opportunity to mention that for ease
of communication and universality of understanding, the name of
the organization has been changed to reflect the object of study
[the consciousness] rather than the name of the science [conscientiology].
Therefore, the International Academy of Conscientiology is now known
as the International Academy of Consciousness. Everything else pertaining
to our organization remains unchanged.

Alternative Experimental Models for Quantitative
Analysis of Experimental Research into Remote-Target Perception
Nelson C. Abreu
ABSTRACT: Two studies were presented during the 3rd International
Congress of Projectiology and Conscientiology on identification
of remote information for supporting out-of-body experience research.
Experimental setup problems hypothesized were: the use of displayed
images rather than real objects, interpretive distortions, and rotation
of the horizon of vision. Here, alternative setups are described
to address these issues without robots, while integrating the use
of colors and retaining very low incidence probabilities and the
“double-blind” aspect of the research. One uses an array
of labeled squares, similar to a chessboard, wherein each square
contains the same set of colored light bulbs. The second uses two
rotating wheels with alphanumerical and color options. Printed or
type or pliable materials are suggested to replace printed symbols.
A preliminary study to compare monitor-displayed images with innovative
media is put forth.
aquí para resolver estas cuestiones sin necesitar robots;
a experiência fora do corpo. As hipóteses levantadas
impressos. É apresentado também um estudo comparativo
preliminar entre técnica de exibição de imagens
em tela com a alternativa proposta.

Paradiagnosis
Bruno de Moraes Santos Wong
ABSTRACT: This study’s objective is to analyze a less explored
subject in the area of paraclinics: the paradiagnosis. Paradiagnosis
is defined as the knowledge or determination of a disease by the
parasigns and parasymptoms perceived parapsychically by the examiner.
Various parallels between paradiagnosis and conventional medical
diagnosis are discussed, as well as the methodological differences
between them. Six subcategories of different paraperceptive modalities
utilized to obtain a paradiagnosis are proposed: parakinesthesia;
clairvoyance; clairaudience; sympathetic assimilation; retrocognition
and conscious projection. Within the section on parakinesthesia
an exercise is suggested, so readers can experiment for themselves
with this paraperceptive modality. We conclude that paradiagnosis
has great therapeutic and preventive potential, being essential
to anyone who wants to practice conscienciotherapy. Paradiagnosis
seeks to complement and not substitute for a diagnosis made by conventional
medicine.

Religious Self-mimicry: a study
Marcelli Ferraz
ABSTRACT: The present paper focuses on religious behaviors, which
have been learned in past lives and are unnecessarily repeated in
this current one. Sustained by para-conditionings, mental laziness,
fears and neophobia, these behavioral patterns hinder the development
of the consciousness by maintaining it in an infantile state of
emotional dependence. The basic premise of this work is to demonstrate
the importance of identifying these behaviors and understanding
their value within the evolutionary process. The author highlights
32 basic self-mimetic behaviors and describes 9 prophylactic techniques.

Physical Immobility Waking State Laboratory
Experiment
Martin Azambuya
This personal account describes my first experience with the Waking
Physical Immobility Laboratory in the New York office of the International
Academy of Conscienciology (IAC).
The purpose of this written personal account is to perhaps help
clarify any other persons’ experience with this specific laboratory
as well as to help encourage all volunteers, members and non-member
students who wish to experience the Laboratories recently established
in all IAC offices throughout the world.
This experience begins as of Sunday, July 21st, 2002 at approximately
2.30pm.
Pre-Laboratory Stage
In this stage, unfortunately, due to the lack
of lucidity, attention and focus of the experimenter, much less
information than what could have been noted is recalled, in terms
of specific thoughts, sensations or syncronicities having to do
with the preparation of the experiment. However I would like to
point out the following events that can be associated with the experiment:
? As I went into the bathroom to take a shower at approximately
2.30pm, beginning regular daily preparations before leaving my home,
I noticed a slight increase in the perception of my holochakra.
As I showered, I was able to exteriorize my energies with relative
strength and ease (hydromagnetic shower). At the time, I did not
think of it in terms of preparation for the laboratory.
? While inside the subway car, as I relaxed into the soothing feeling
of the cold air coming from the air conditioner which blew in my
direction from above my head, I instantly gained some more awareness
regarding the perception of my holochakra. At this moment, I began
to exteriorize my energies to the best of my ability. This exteriorization
would continue on an on and off basis, for the remainder of the
40 to 45 minutes it took me to get to the IAC office.
? There were two volunteers at the office when I arrived. I was
very cautious in the short time that I interacted with them, not
to ask too many questions, but especially not to ask any questions
that could influence my thoughts regarding the experiment. I could
not help but notice a serene energy coming from them and also in
the office itself. I felt in this instance (as I have felt at times
in the past) the extreme change in energies from the street to the
office space. After cooling down in front of the fan, and briefly
examining the laboratory space with one of the instructors, she
gave me some tips on the preparation aspect. Shortly after, I was
ready to enter the Laboratory to begin the experiment.
Laboratory Stage
This stage is divided into 3 phases. Each phase
has its own different, sections, each of which the depth and specificity
of their observation and experimentation, solely depend on the level
of lucidity and energy of the experimenter during these specific
moments within the laboratorial stage of the experiment.
1st Phase. Divided into 2 sections.
1st Section – Staying awake was without a doubt, very difficult
for me, and was the main challenge I had to deal with. During this
beginning period, I drifted in and out of awareness for an unspecified
amount of time. At one given moment, I had a thought that perhaps
I would spend the entire experiment in this state of semi-lethargy,
that is, if I didn’t fall asleep altogether. At the time,
I had mixed feelings regarding this possibility, due to my mental
laziness and personal past (less so in the present) patterns of
time wasting. For the most part of this period, it became difficult
to awaken my mind. I drifted into a pattern where I would feel an
immense amount of energy and lucidity from one moment to the next,
usually at the height of lethargy, but until the beginning of the
2d phase, it would last for only 10 to 30 seconds at a time (approximately).
I did notice however, that these precious moments of lucidity during
this period, would shift one way or the other, depending on my instable
will. If I had a thought behind my thought, of giving in to my “mental
laziness” I would begin to head in that direction, slowly,
until almost falling asleep; but if my thought behind the thought,
carried with it the core information of wanting to or that I was
capable of staying awake, then I would instantly feel that rush
of energy within me, awakening completely until the next drift into
sleepiness/self-corruption began, which would occur within the next
30 seconds or so.
2nd Section – I also experienced a burning sensation in my
eyes. At first I thought that it may be the air conditioner’s
air blowing towards my face, but latter I thought it could have
been a result of the perception of the energetic dimension. I recall
one moment, when the burning sensation was at its height, I tried
to exteriorize energy through my eyes to soothe the burning, but
this made them start to produce moisture with more intensity, making
my eyes fill with tears. I still do not recall at what moment specifically,
or how I managed to get through this situation, but in the end,
my eyes did not water to the point of tearing, although there was
definitely enough moisture in my eyes to produce tears, and I even
had blurry eyesight, but it seemed as if the tears were contained
in my eyes somehow. I believe that having overcome this obstacle
may have been the beginning of the turning point for me in the experiment.
Since I lost all real sense of time, I’m not sure of when
the second phase began, but I do remember that upon catching myself
about to fall asleep for the last time, all of a sudden, I felt
the presence of the helpers’ energy very strongly, and from
one moment to the other, I was completely awake, lucid, (but this
time it seemed to happen without any effort from me) and had a deep
sense of well being. I also began to perceive the energetic field
with a regularity and intensity that would not abandon me. This
is where the 2nd phase began.
2nd Phase. Divided into 5 Sections.
1st Section – As mentioned before, I gained a great amount
of lucidity and my energetic level at least tripled. I also went
into a “zone” that never left me, as I was able to perceive
the energies around me, and those of the field for the remainder
of the experiment. This was also coupled with the fact that I had
a strong discoincedence that reassured me early on in the experiment
that I did not have to worry about not moving my soma.
2nd Section – I began to notice that there was an immense
amount of specific activity in the energetic field, it went from
lightly colored, to dark, to many shades in between, and also had
specific movements within it at different stages. The presence of
extraphysical technology was also evident, due to the uniformity
and specific shapes that the energy went through, when moving from
one point to another in space, towards me and around me.
The first specific pattern, occurred right above my head to the
right side, the energy moving in 3 separate swirls, like whirlwinds,
each keeping itself within its own frame without merging with the
others.
The second specific pattern occurred right above my head, this time,
the energy would take the shape of a vase, more specifically, something
like the shape of an exaggerated Coca-Cola bottle, filling itself
up with energy, and then emptying itself towards my head, then filling
itself up again from the bottom up, then immediately as it was full,
it would empty itself again towards me, and so on and so forth.
The third specific pattern occurred above my head and to the left,
in this instance, the energy seemed to be in a circular shape, like
a clock. There was a line that began from the center of the circle,
and extended itself to the edge of the circumference. As this line
moved (as an arm of a clock moves) the circle filled itself up with
energy, (visually, it was like it left a trace of energy behind
it) and then when the arm reached the “12 o’clock”
mark, it emptied itself out again, going over the same area it had
just “filled” with energy, except that when it was already
full, it would empty it.
3rd Section –The perception of an Asian face, a very kind,
simply floating Asian face, (although very large, at least 5 times
the size of a normal head) smiling at me, or simply smiling, perceived
above my head. His eyes were very “thin”. I am at a
loss to find another word for what I mean specifically, regarding
the description of his eyes, but by using the word “thin”,
I mean that they were the opposite of round eyes, straight, thin
eyes, exaggeratedly Asian. Had he been in the physical dimension,
it would be very difficult to see his eyeballs. This face irradiated
peace, joy and serene well being, mirroring the sentiments I had
within myself at the time.
Shortly after perceiving this Asian face 3 times, I began to doubt
the validity of the perception (even though at the time I was perceiving
it, I had absolutely no doubt of the reality and of the energetic
exchange I was experiencing) due to wrinkles and shadows in the
hanging curtain, that matched where his eyes and mouth were, making
me think that perhaps I had simply imagined it, or that the curtain
had formed this shape, through the shadows and wrinkles. However,
talking to a staff member days latter, he mentioned to me (without
knowing of my perception) that the volunteer who was in the office
the day my experiment occurred also had a ‘vision’ of
an Asian face. It would be interesting to exchange further details
of this perception with this volunteer, to help me consider other
possibilities, and/or expand them.
4th Section – I perceived the formation of ectoplasm, occurring
right after 3 very intense vibrational states at different times.
It seemed to form at my diaphragm, then move upwards towards my
throat, giving me the sensation that I would have to release this
feeling of gas, but as I stayed calm, sure that I would not move,
the sensation dissipated every time it reached my throat. Shortly
after the first time it occurred, I remembered of the ectoplasmic
sensations, many times described as “like cotton” forming
in our throats. At this moment during the experiment, I knew that
what I had just experienced was the formation of ectoplasm.
5th Section – The presence of helpers was there throughout
the remainder of the experiment, feeding me little thoughts that
helped me achieve the 3hs of being completely immobile as well as
helping me see and consider other perspectives on circumstances
in my own life.
There were moments when the beginnings of impatience would start
to become apparent in my thoughts. I noticed that the couple of
times that this occurred, thoughts not expressed in words, would
“say” things such as “if you stay in the moment
it’s easy” and “focus on the energies” and
“don’t lose focus” and “remain in discoincedence”
(among the ones that I can remember) would jump into my head, automatically
changing my thoughts into more productive ones for the sake of the
experiment, which changed my energies to be more serene and expansive,
which in turn stabilized my psychosphere, putting me in a more alert,
happy and calm state, optimizing the experiment as well as my focus.
During another certain period within this section of the phase,
I had an array of thoughts come and go, most of which were related
to my personal life. Some of these thoughts had to do with things/circumstances
and people in my life that give me great joy, and in these moments
I felt deeply grateful and fortunate for them, and some of these
thoughts were related to circumstances and people in my daily life
that at times had given me more than one problem with my “inner
peace” and perspective, to put it mildly. Interestingly enough,
I felt joyful and grateful for these circumstances and people as
well. No matter what circumstance or person the thought had to do
with, my immediate feeling about it was very peaceful, fearless
and very positive. I was aware that I was not “candy coating”
the unpleasant situations in my life, but rather effortlessly seeing
all of the positive aspects of those same circumstances and people
I call unpleasant or negative in my daily life, most of which upon
superficial examination do not seem positive or joyful at all, but
as one takes a deeper look into them, (during this period of the
experiment, the depth was instant) they have a sense of perfection
as they are, a perfectly logical and positive reason for being.
At times, humor also formed part of some perspectives, as they came
with a healthy “lightness” to me.
Being that I had chosen to experiment with this laboratory on this
Sunday, my body had the opportunity to quiet down to an extreme
not commonly possible in my daily life. This gave me the opportunity
to focus my thoughts and energies on extraphysical realities for
more uninterrupted time and further in depth than usual, expanding
my own restrictions of thought and perception that are normal to
me on a daily basis. Having taken advantage of the strong energetic
field established by the helpers, along with their deeply reassuring
support, I was able to have many insights, as mentioned before.
One of these insights or “feelings” (which is more exact
a word for the specific thought I am about to describe) was the
sense that I was “on the right track”. This “track”
or “road” had to do with my existential program, which
in the past months, has slowly just begun to surface in the reality
of my thoughts. This thought that came to me, was even colored with
some humor, as the thought “said” (paraphrasing it):
“well you must be on track if you choose to sit immobile in
a darkened room all afternoon on a Sunday….”
3rd Phase. Divided into 2 Sections.
1st Section – It began when I heard voices in the hallway,
(although at the time, I thought that they were coming from the
office.) This moment was the first time that I had any type of thought
as to how much time was left. A passing thought came to me indicating
that there was exactly 30 minutes left. Judging by the amount of
time that went by from that moment until the alarm went off, I would
say that it was correct, if not exact.
2nd Section – A few minutes after I heard the voices, there
was an insistent knock at the door, twice. At this moment, I swallowed
saliva for the first time since the very beginning of the experiment,
only realizing at that moment that I had not swallowed saliva for
a couple of hours at least.
I was not sure what was going on, regarding the knocking at the
door, but as I began to have thoughts of actually getting up to
open the door, in case there was a problem in the building etc.
(considering there is a “do not disturb” sign hanging
on the door) I was reassured to finish the experiment by a very
strong wave of energy and serenity, sponsored by the helpers. So
that is what I did. I later found out that the person knocking at
the door was the building’s door man, regarding an unimportant
matter.
Post-Laboratory Stage
This stage began exactly when the alarm went
off, but I am not certain when it ended. What I mean by this is
that the serene feeling that I had during and after the experiment,
lasted intensely for quite a few hours, and continued being present
for a couple of days after I left the office. There are however
3 phases I recall regarding specificities (energetic and otherwise)
related to the experiment.
1st Phase. As I mentioned before, this phase
began as the alarm went off and officially ended the Laboratory
stage of the experiment. When this occurred, I still had a major
discoincedence of bodies (soma and pyschosoma) so I took my time
in gathering myself and my thoughts as I slowly moved my extremities
to realign myself.
I took some time in taking notes at the table which was set-up inside
the laboratory and noticed that I could not see properly, as it
was difficult to focus my eyes, and even when I did manage to focus
my eyesight, it was still quite blurry.
I left the office, very much aware of the peace and quiet within
me, as well as the discoincedence I had.
As I got out of the elevator, and walked towards the street door,
I saw one of the building’s door men and instantly thought
that I smelled alcohol, although this would have been difficult
due to the distance at which he stood from me at the moment of this
perception. He greeted me jubilantly, as he does most times he sees
me, and patted me on the back. I asked him if he had knocked on
the door, and he explained the situation to me. I noticed that I
did not feel very well from the very beginning of this interaction,
as a matter of fact, from the first moment I saw him, and actually
had a few brief and mild waves of nausea during, and after our interaction.
As I walked outside to catch a taxi, I saw him pick up a can of
beer wrapped in a brown paper bag. I realized that I had coupled
with him energetically and assimilated his energies from the first
moment we made eye contact. This was the clear explanation to me
regarding my sensations of nausea considering that my psychosphere
had been cleansed during the experiment and this had been my first
“contact” with the “outside world” after
the experiment.
2nd Phase. On the ride home in the taxi, I continued
to have insights regarding some of the things I saw on the streets
as we drove past them. As I saw a particular person or situation
on the street, it would trigger a specific thought, and that thought
would develop into another more elaborate thought, which would stem
a thought related to something that had to do with me, which would
trigger a thought related to the extraphysical scenario of that
person or situation in relationship to myself as a consciousness.
Some of the advertisements I read, either on other taxi’s
or hanging from large displays, or even small bumper stickers on
cars were related to thoughts that I was having either moments before
I saw the advertisement or would give birth to thoughts regarding
conscienciological issues right after reading them. I felt alert
and in synchronicity with the environment and with the energies
of the specific holothosene I formed part of. I noticed that the
presence of the helpers was not as evident (considering my presently
undeveloped extraphysical perceptions) as it was during the laboratory
stage, although I continued feeling the looseness of my holochakra
and still had a expanded (more than my daily personal average) perception
of certain concepts regarding physical life.
3rd Phase. As I entered my home, I felt the
dense energy (relatively speaking taking into account where my own
personal energies were at that moment) of the space right away.
I was not sure exactly what it was about (i.e., what holothosene)
but they differed with my internal state quite clearly. I noticed
the change in energies almost immediately. My partner seemed to
be at unease with something. She did not mention anything to me
or try to make me aware of this at all, and even made pleasant conversation
with me, which led me to believe that it was so subtle that she
may not have even been conscious of it herself, and on a “normal”
day, I would have perhaps not perceived anything either.
What I recall next about this experience is sitting at the kitchen
table with her, sharing with her a few details about my experience
with the laboratory, while at the same time consciously exteriorizing
energies to her, while having the feeling that somehow she felt
more support from me regarding the issue bothering her, even though
not even a word was spoken about it, there had been a clear energetic
interaction that had its own development and transition from beginning
to end. By the time we were leaving the kitchen area, I felt the
energy in the space was much lighter than when I arrived, and the
perception of her energies towards her surroundings, and towards
me, had much more positive “information” than only half
an hour before. I felt useful and continued being in a state of
satisfaction and well being.
Personal Conclusion
As the following couple of days went by, I slowly
lost the specificity of my perceptions and depth of thought, until
reaching my own personal level of “normalcy” again.
However, I think that perhaps after having had this experience in
the laboratory, and knowing (through having experienced) the potential
possibility (in an optimized energetic field) of my personal level
of awareness of thought and energy, it seems that perhaps my “normalcy”
level may have been slightly raised, as the experience itself is
now logged in my consciousness. My conclusion then was that the
more one is able to go as deep as possible into pondering, reflecting
upon, and positively learning from all experiences, the more it
will serve the purpose of one’s own evolution.
In my personal point of view, the ‘laboratories for personal
experimentation’ set at the IAC offices and class spaces provide
a wonderful way of being able to conduct our own research in an
optimized energetic field, without having to travel to a research
center1 to do so. Best of energies to you all.

Volitación Conjunta
Maximiliano Torres Haymann
Comencé a mirar a mi alrededor buscando
Me sorprendió aquella situación, pues ella estaba
volando a mi lado.
